Introduction to Handguns Clinic Success!!
SLOSA hosted a very special Introduction to Handguns Clinic the weekend
before last. It was made possible by a grant from the NRA, and was for Women
and Youth. We had 14 women attend, four were juniors, six had never shot,
and all of them finished the day safely and comfortably knowing how to
handle and shoot a handgun. Several of the students expressed an interest in
coming back out to shoot at one of the Action Pistol venues or the Popgun
night. The class filled so fast we have a waiting list for another one. The
Team who planned and taught the class also attended a class for NRA
Instructor Certification. Altogether the entire event was extremely
successful.

About Us

SLOSA is a member of the Central California Firearms Education Foundation. We are a non-profit corporation created to sponsor and educate the public regarding the proper use of varying types of firearms through instruction, coaching, demonstration.  We provide varied firearm and hunter safety courses including 4H, and Boy Scout shooting.  We also promote the enforcement and observation of fish, game, and forest laws and regulations as well as provide information regarding conservation of wildlife and environmental resources.  We offer multiple range types including the Rifle & Pistol Range, Trap & Skeet Range, and Archery Range.  We host numerous events monthly including the Blackpowder Muzzleloaders competition, High Power Rifle program, Cowboy Action Shooting, and Action Pistol events at the Hogue Range.
