USPSA Shooting at the Hogue Action Pistol Range

San Luis Action Pistol (SLAP)

Rim Fire 3 Gun

Yes, you read that right. We are running a rimfire 3 gun match along with our regular center fire match. The rules are based on the standard USPSA 3 gun rules. They are based on the rules due to the unique qualities of a rimfire firearm. We will be using reduced range targets as an alternate to the long range targets. The large poppers and some other targets will be well tested, hard set or simply left down for the 22’s. The rifle can be any safe semi-auto 22lr you chose. An example is the 10/22 or an AR 22lr conversion. The pistol is similar in that it can be any safe 22lr auto, revolver or a conversion. Some examples are, Ruger MK11, Buckmark, S&W 617 and a 1911 22lr conversion. The hand gun will be retrieved from a designated location or started in a designated position in hand, a holster is not required. Magazines may be placed on the props, other designated areas or taken from the belt, pocket, etc. See stage descriptions. There are two classes, open (use what you want as long as it is safe and CA legal!) and Tactical. Refer to the USPSA rules as to what would be legal in Tactical/Tactical scoped. Considering where we live, magazines will only be allowed to have ten rounds loaded at any time. (Barney OK) A detachable magazine fed rifle is highly recommended, there will be on-the-clock reloads. A pump or lever gun could be used but would be at a distinct disadvantage. The shot gun requirements are standard USPSA rules, center fire guns, pump or auto, chambered in 12 or 20ga. Rimfire 3 gun offers a less expensive opportunity for the new and experienced competitor alike to enjoy. Please come try it out and bring a friend, it will be highly competitive and lots of fun.

Since the rimfire is all about fun we don't want you to get hung up on the rules, bring what you have and we will all have a good time. I have though been asked for a division summary so you don't have to go reading through the USPSA rules if you don't usually do that.

Division Summary

The equipment for the divisions usually works out something like this:

Open - optics on everything, usually auto shotguns, shotgun speedloaders allowed.

Tactical - 1 optic allowed (usually on the rifle) and usually pump or auto shotguns, they are pretty equal.
